Sydney Flower Markets {Flowers}

On Saturday the girls and I headed to the Sydney Flower Markets at Homebush in an effort to see just how many flowers one can fit into the boot of a car. We arrived at 8am with all of the usual Saturday vendors selling flowers at very reasonable prices.

We did a lap first and sussed out all of the bargains and plan our arrangements, the best deals of the day were 4 bunches of carnations for $10, 3 bunches of roses for $10 and 1 bunch of 25 long stem roses for $15. All up I spent $25 and managed to make a number of arrangements for our home, don’t be afraid to bargain with the vendors just a little, I think they actually like it Vendor: “$2 a bunch” Me: Hands over a $5 note “You can keep the $5 if I can have 3 bunches” (hehe I am a cheeky bugger).

The car boot (room for many, many more flowers)

And a little something to brighten my work desk.

Hope you all have a fabulous Monday!

Tuesday at Home

I have been having alot of fun lately styling playing spaces around home.
We went Skiing last week, on the drive home I picked up this beautiful blossom branch on the side of the road.

I Love how the petals fall on the buffet, they remind me of snow and cleaning.

Skiing was fantastic, I got brave and tackled a few jumps.

Here is a $10 Thriifted black ginger jar lamp, upcycled with Ikea silver GENJS Shade

GNEJS Shade IKEA Directed light, shade of imitated silver makes the light extra decorative.

Bright Monday {Flowers}

Stace and I headed to the Sydney Flower Markets on Saturday, we were there by 7:15am and there were a few stalls, however not as many as business days (so I hear). The prices were a lot cheaper than retail and worth the trip if you have an event to style or a passion for beautiful flowers like us, $6 for a punch of roses, $10 for 3 bunches of carnations. A lot of the sellers were reducing prices the latter in the morning. Our advice is go a little later if you are keen for a bargain, but by later I mean 8am.

Confident in our newfound floristry skills we created a few bouquets for ourselves and friends.

FLOWERS

I have come a long way since my first floristry class, I feel like I have the confidence to go to the flower markets and purchase a few bunches of flowers and whip up something fantastic!

Our final class was last night I chose to do a long table arrangement in oasis (as I wasn’t happy with my previous efforts). I am very pleased with how my woodlands inspired arrangement turned out.

Rock My World...

Pink Quartz pieces turned into magnets so easy to make, craft glue + magnet + quartz rock = fabulousity and oh so pretty to hold up bills, bills and more bills in places like the fridge where you might not forget to pay them.

Yes I am collecting the Thomas Dux stickers, a new set of steak knives would be fab, are you collecting? The promotion ends 29th January 2012.

As you might remember the above pretties were inspired by these pretties

The hydrangea flowers from my mothers garden have been getting pinker {not that I am complaining, the pinker the better as far as I am concerned}.

PS: Just in case you were wondering the "S" in the frame is for my married name.
