Curate {Etsy Shop}

It is no secret that I enjoy the thrill of a good thrifted find! I do however realise that some people find it hard to see the potential in pieces found in thrift stores.

Among the many fabulous vintage stores selling antique thrifted finds is an online store named Curate by {Evie of Post College Working girl}

A shop of shopping shall we?
Vintage lucite serving tray with horses
This tray is such a neat vintage items with its twisty lucite handles and lucite body and etched glass tray. The horses are frolicky and so cute! This would make a great gift for a wedding, shower, or birthday!

Stacked Bird Salt and Pepper Shakers
Perhaps the most curious salt and pepper set I have ever come across. The top two birds are for salt and pepper and the bottom bird, who comes with a spoon and has an open top, is for sugar or whatever else you would like. The salt and pepper shakers have a removable piece of cork on the bottom to put in the salt and pepper. A little bit of the gold detailing has faded on the top bird over time but I think it only adds to the vintage charm. Made in Japan.

LARGE Black Elephant
This textured pachyderm has so much charm and charisma it is hard to not fall in love with his coy little smile! He is made of plaster and has some spots of wear, but I think it just adds to his character. His trunk is playful and creates a sense of movement when you look at him. He is about the size of a large, tall house cat, and actually frightened my dog when I set him in my hallway! He is not as heavy as he looks. Would be great in a garden or in the home!

This lovely blue glass log dish is the perfect size for your desktop or table to hold anything from pins, paper clips, and business cards to candy, sugar, or salt. It has little cut off branches for legs and has knobby protrusions on it's side that are spotted on the wood, or faux bois, pattern. This would make for a great gift as well!

I am lusting over the Lucite Tray!

Mr Stag himself was purchased through Etsy Store Monkey and Squirrel.

My shopping basket was full at one stage with these also:

Ps: I am not sure why I call them all "Mr"?

Inspired... Lino art on Etsy

Very inspired with these beautiful lino stamped art prices that I have found on Etsy. They are all one of a kind as each piece is individually stamped. I remember making something similar as a school student.

I am Thinking about purchasing a few pieces for around the home, my favorite is the grey world map for the office redesign.

Ottomans & cushions & coffee - "Oh my"

As a die hard coffee lover, I was in awe when I found these beautiful and Oh-so original handmade Coffee sack ottomans and cushions by VelvetBean on Etsy (cool name- but no connection).

I wonder if they would still have the coffee smell?

At my favorite coffee place everybody knows my name and my coffee of choice.
Do you have a favorite coffee place?  I would love to try it!

My Number 1 is Campos Coffee in Newtown - for an Affogato (Ice cream with a shot of coffee)
Sadly I don't live in the area so only have it as a special treat every now and again.

Lucite tray & Gold Bowl

I recently purchased this Studded Lucite Mail tray from nicolecohen on Etsy. You can see it sitting on our coffee table holding the remotes on the "Laminate Timber flooring project".

The Brass bowl that Nicole used for styling the tray had me scouring the listings on Etsy where I found these baby's, would you believe these little bowls are made out of Paper Mache & Gold leaf? and reasonably priced from $10 to $30 USD from etco. They are to be used for display purposes only, I would use these as a catch for jewelry, you might see me attempting to make some of these soon (Stay tuned).
