TWO YEARS

I thought I would never be that person that has any more than One or Two wedding photos on show in our home, but alas two years on and there are plenty of wedding photos scattered around our home and I just adore them!

For our second anniversary recently we met up with our super talented Friend and Wedding photographer Jay of Southern Light Photography to have a few photos taken around our beautiful city Sydney (here are a few of the Low Res photos). We got to keep all of the photos Jay took, but the question is can I pick only one or two to show around the house….

Friday flowers {The anniversary eddition}

These beauties arrived at work for me the other day!

I can’t believe it has already been two years since I married the love of my life! We are continuing the anniversary celebration with our annual lunch at the place where we married in the Hunter Valley.

Any recommendations of places to visit in the Hunter Valley? Aside from an indulgent chocolate covered strawberry at The Hunter valley Chocolate Company.

Wedding dress code: “Races”

We attended a friends wedding over the weekend with the dress code “Races”, how fabulous is that? all the ladies wore wonderful dresses and fascinators and the men weren’t too confused either suit, shirt, tie and shoes.

I had a dry-cleaning dress dilemma when packing the car the night before (a dress I was planning on wearing that was dry-cleaned three months ago and now features rust stains I didn’t even think to check).

I did a quick power shop for a new outfit (under one hour) I went to Alannah hill and scored this beautiful dress and fascinator on SALE!.

More on the features of this super cute and creative wedding to come!.

Did you have a fabulous weekend?

Bali...{Wedding}

We spent our  New Years holiday in Bali, celebrating my cousins wedding  at Karma Jimbaran

The wedding was absolutely breathtaking an arbor adorned with white roses and greenery greeted guests at the end of the thick flower petal isle, the Bride looked absolutely stunning her hair was swept to one side and pinned with orchards. The photos really do speak for themselves.

(The above photos are credit to the more professional photographer/ friends at the wedding)

The Reception flowers were also amazing, I was trying to figure out how I could walk out with them all under one arm.

A super thoughtful bonbonniere with our names also doubled as a placeholder, these beauties will definitely be going up pride of place on our Christmas tree 2012.

Congratulations, may your lives together be full of love and laughter.

To my surprise the stunning Jessica Stein of the (super famous) blog "Tuula" is friends of the Bride’s family, it seams you can’t go many places these days without running into another fabulous blogger.

Lighting {Weddings}

Beautiful lighting can make wedding photographs fabulous and interesting!.... (It also helps if your photographer is as talented as Jonas Peterson )

The above bride arrived by Row boat with her father. How sweet is this Idea!!!

Where have I been? {Travel: Airlie Beach Whitsundays Australia}

Maybe you were wondering where I have been the last few days, or maybe not... I am going to tell you anyways! We have been in Airlie beach {Whitsundays Australia} for our gorgeous friends wedding!

We Stayed at the Pinnacles Resort, beautifully equipped accommodation, the resort is situated on a hill about 5 minutes walk from town.

The wedding was beautiful despite the weather (a little rainy) My dress was Alannah Hill, love it!

The very dapper looking Mr

The ceremony was held on the Waterfront

On our last day we went for a walk at "Coral Beach" it is part of the Conway National Park, the track starts at Shute Harbour and travels through open forest to Coral Beach, The beach was amazing and a highlight of our trip along with attending our beautiful friends wedding.

We attempted a panoramic photo and then the camera battery died, isn't that always the way!  Photobucket

Wedding Inspirations

I have been looking for a dress to wear to a friends wedding next month, it is in Queensland so lucky all of the summer dresses are coming out. You can't go wrong with a Alanah Hill, BGBG or a Karen Millen Dress.

Whilst looking for dresses I found a little "Wedding Guest Etiquette Guide" from Lauren Conrad did you know she had a blog? I know now, it is great (Kind of like Goop).

Dress code I do’s…
  • Subtlety is best. Opt for simple, pretty or romantic looks rather than edgy or sultry ensembles.
  • Simple beauty. Keep hair and makeup natural and pretty.
Dress code I don’ts…
  • The White Rule. This age old tenet says to avoid wearing all white (including ivory), as it should be reserved for the bride. The bottom line here: it’s impolite to upstage the bride so let her be the only one wearing white. Luckily this rule has relaxed a bit. Cream colored clothing and print dresses with white backdrops are usually fine.
  • Black. Try not to wear black to early morning/afternoon nuptials.
  • Absolutely, positively NO jeans and sexy or revealing clothing. No exceptions.

Whilst on my quest for a fabulous dress to wear as a wedding guest I stumbled onto this beautiful wedding dress in the SALE section of ShopBop Here, it is convertible how fab is that!

Have you seen Kim Kardashians wedding dress? Not sure about all of the wedding party and guests wearing white (PS: Kris Humphries wore an Ermenegildo Zegna Suit, The same Brand My Mr wore on our wedding day).

Here is Mr Swain and I on our big Day.
One of the positives with purchasing his suit for our wedding is he gets to wear it to work!
