Style files - Ombre hair & Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Excuse me whist I digress from our regular programming to discuss a little hair colour tend I have been digging "Ombre"... I have just seen some pics of Rosie Huntington-Whitely, a Victoria's secret model and Transformers actress. I think Rosies hair is a great example of the ombre hair trend done well, it looks slightly sun kissed and natural.

This style is also referred to as balyage - i have it done to my hair (very subtly) at the moment, it's an awesome way to add colour without going too overboard. I blogged more examples here

ReplyDeleteI have been getting a little bit of balyage for three or four years now. It's the greatest. You don't necessarily need to go Drew's contrast, just a little, plus they can blend a few different tones to create a really lovely colour. Personally the regrowth is tolerable - I am naturally quite blonde, only darkening up a little in winter. I do however get a toner once a month - just freshens it up a little.

ReplyDeleteDo it do it!!!! I am a bit balayage and have been on the bandwagon for a few years now. Upsides - less maintenance, more natural that is if you don't go crazy like Drew and your hair stays in great condition. I think lots of people thing you have to be really two toned, but an amazing colourist will do a few shades and really blend to give you great results.
ReplyDeleteWhat colour are you naturally? I was very blonde as a child and am getting darker as I get older, around a medium blonde I would say now and that does help to get it looking natural and not to grown out.
